The Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library is the largest library on George Washington University’s campus that serves the needs of students, faculty, staff, researchers, and alumni.

This seven-story building was constructed in the Brutalist architectural style and opened in 1973. Gelman is located at the corner of 22nd and H Streets, with the entrance through Kogan Plaza. The building serves as a campus hub for academic support and resources, housing Academic Commons, the GW Writing Center, the Instructional Technology Lab, the CREATE Digital Studio, the National Churchill Leadership Center, the Special Collections Research Center, the Global Resources Center, and the Teamsters Labor History Center, along with the traditional library services of a top-tier academic research library.
