Setty provided MEP Engineering services and a Building Evaluation Report for one of the oldest federal buildings in DC, the Patent Office Building, which houses both the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery and the American Art Museum.
As part of the six-year renovation of the 332,674 sf building, our engineers performed a comprehensive analysis of existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as energy analysis, schematic design of alternative systems, cost estimates, life cycle costing. Recommendations were offered for prime alternate systems suitable for maintaining constant temperature all year round, accommodating the structural, architectural, and historic preservation requirements of this critical climate.
