Fox Theatre, Air Quality Improvements, Atlanta, GA
The historic Fox Theatre is one of Atlanta’s premiere venues for live entertainment. The Fox’s 4,665 seat theatre hosts more than 150 performances a year ranging from Broadway to rock, comedy, and films. Our engineered solutions seek to improve indoor air quality and temperature control of the theatre and adjacent ancillary spaces, through the use of dilution, disinfection, and filtration systems, and CFD modeling.
SETTY was able to work with Fox Theatre in its mission to provide safer and more comfortable environment upon its re-opening to the public due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. SETTY provided Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design Services as well as CFD Modeling services to improve the Indoor Air Quality at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA.
Our scope included:
Design of airstream treatment systems for the following Air Handling Units
Main Auditorium
Egyptian Ballroom
The Grand Salon
Dressing Room Tower
Subsequent spaces such as Employee Spaces & Restrooms
Airstream treatment
Disinfection with Ultraviolet (C) lamps directly in the airstream
Disinfection with Bipolar Ionization
Filtration with new particulate cartridge filter recommendations
Dilution with the increase of Outside (Ventilation) Air
Engineering analysis performed with respect to existing controls, performance and operations
The design considers explicit impacts to existing equipment layouts and performance as a direct result of the Air Quality design
