The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a U.S. federal agency focused on the conditions of the oceans, major waterways, and the atmosphere. Established in 1970, NOAA operates under the Department of Commerce and plays a crucial role in weather forecasting, climate monitoring, fisheries management, and coastal restoration.

The agency conducts research and gathers data to understand and predict changes in the environment, aiming to conserve marine and coastal ecosystems and ensure sustainable use of ocean resources. NOAA's work is vital for protecting lives, property, and natural resources, as well as supporting economic development and environmental stewardship.

NOAA planned to house additional computing systems within their facility, incorporating Blade technologies which have higher power and heat load requirements. The project encompassed four key upgrades: Electrical, UPS, Chiller Plan, and Data Center. SETTY provided both Commissioning and Construction Management services for upgrading this 208,271 GSF mission-critical computer operations facility.

The commissioned systems included chilled and condensing water systems, a computer room cooling system, and electrical generators and switchgear. As the commissioning agent and construction manager, SETTY coordinated a team comprising the Owner, Architect, Engineer of Record, General Contractor, Mechanical Consulting Engineer, Controls Contractor, and Testing & Balancing service provider.
