NET ZERO ENERGY &
MEP/FP ENGINEERING
Baltimore City Public Schools’ new Graceland Park O’Donnell Heights E/M School and Holabird Academy E/M School Buildings will be state-of-the-art 21st century learning environments that replace two existing PK-8 schools. The two schools are currently in construction. Through a grant from the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA), the schools will be the first net zero energy (NZE) buildings for Baltimore City and the second and third NZE schools in the State of Maryland. SETTY has been contracted by Grimm + Parker Architects to provide MEP/FP design for both schools. An interactive energy dashboard will inform students, staff and visitors about energy generation and use, and will be incorporated into student learning and engagement.
The sustainable MEP features of the design includes:
Photovoltaics
Solar Tube Daylighting
Ground Source Heat Pump
